Irritated with Ironband

I'm on a new quest that's killinggg me. Literally. I'm dying every two seconds. I looked through walkthroughs, and everyone was like it's pretty easy...but then again i'm level 19 and it's a level 10 quest...so they aren't helping me. I did find a new walkthrough/tips webside though- wow.allakhazam.com. Just incase you aren't getting anything helpful from the other sites, I always find thats its a good idea to have more than one site for help. I'm also getting more and more interested in walkthroughs. They seem so simple to do, but it really takes an expert at the game to know exactly what to put, not to make them too long or over complicated, and not to make them too short for people to use them to succeed. Allakhazam has the description of the quest given, and then people respond to it with messaging. People can ask direct questions about the quest and more experience wow members help them out. Normally the posting starts with one detailed walkthrough and goes from there. I've found that most different quests have different people posting to them, which is another interesting part of it. I wonder if there are any quests out there that don't have a walkthrough already made for them...seems unlikely with the vast number of involved wow members out there. I reccommend Allakhazam as a good method for asking these involved wowers for help.
Back to my quest- Ironband's compound! It seemed so simple when I first started on it, I knew exactly where to go, but the place is literally surrounded by little monsters. They seem to be able to locate me and attack me from a mile away, so when I'm fighting just one, five more magically appear. I've been playing wow at very odd hours recently, and I've found that finding people to go on quests is nearly impossible because everyone playing at these hours are experienced- and not interested in joining up with a level ten. Molly was right, it is sort of like high school...I'm not cool enough to hang out with the cool kids. It's too bad because I either have to give up my life to find the right times to play with all the other lower level characters, or I have to keep dying every two seconds in Ironband's compound. Choices, choices...

Bothered with Bows

Alright, I'm really struggling within the game right now. Is it possible to be successful on quests if you don't know how to use a bow or gun ????? I don't really understand it....but it seems like an offhand weapon is pretty much necessary to complete quests. If you don't have one, you can't draw off enemies from a central dwelling, and then you're attacked by about 300 trolls at once and you're only hope is to outrun them. I don't understand why they don't pop up in the game more. I think I got a bow once, from looting, but I couldn't use it, so I just sold it. I figured when I reached a high enough level I'd be able to start using bows, but no, wow is much more complicated than that, of course. First, you have to find a weapons master (which isn't easy in the enormous Iron Forge) and then you have to pay them a ridiculous amount of money just to be able to learn to use a bow or gun- that doesn't include buying the bow or gun, and the ammo or arrows to go with it. It isn't fairrrrrrr I don't have enough money...and now I have to focus on making money instead of leveling up (which is okay because I can't level up anyway without finishing quests, and I can't finish any of my quests without a long range weapon)
When I decided to learn to use a bow or gun, I couldn't decide which would be better on my own. I used google to find out what other gamers though and I found one helpful website- http://vnboards.ign.com/wow_general_board/- this website works basically as a message board where people just put there questions out there and others answer it. If someone has already asked your question, which they probably have because the number of question wow users have is vast, you're in luck! If they haven't, you can ask it yourself and you'll probably get an answer shortly. It helped me decide between a bow and a gun (I decided bow) with lots of different opinions, which I think is nice to see in all one place. Thumbs up to the website!

Wonderous WOWhead

I found another great site! Wowhead is for anyone who gets stuck ANYWHERE. It's great. I got stuck on a quest and I went to the site, found the location I was in, the name of the quest, and it was that simple. The instructions come from actual WOW players that are just trying to make your life easier. Your life in WOW that is. Anyone can post on it, so it does have the Wikipedia worry that someone could be leading you astray just for fun, but every quest I've used it for has turned out well.
There's one quest I get stuck on everytime, and no website can really help me. I'm trying to prove my warrior strength to my new trainer by getting the head of Verleek, the nasty troll, but his hut is completely surrounded. I try to pick out the lesser trolls one by one, but the more I take down, the more seem to swarm me in the end, always leading to my imminent death. I don't have the right skills to use a gun so I can't attack from afar, leading me to believe that this task is completely unfair. It's impossible to do on your own. Just another example of why WOW is a community game, you really can't get far without help from your fellow players.

Concerned with Clicking

So...I reached level 10. Let me tell you, the whole game changes. The Gates of Ironforge were opened to me, and it was like I was finally a part of the...community. To all the level 7-9's out there still playing, keep going. Level 10 is a whole new deal. Suddenly I was being invited on quests, I was given new objectives, I could learn new skills and go new places. Trust me, it's a level you want to reach. It's when you officially become part of World of Warcraft.
When I get a quest, I like to try and do it by myself. The more I do this, the more stupid it becomes. World of Warcraft wasn't made to be a solo game, and it shouldn't be played as one. To all the independents out there, trust me, it's a lot more fun when you can get resurrected by a friend in your quest group then having to find your body over and over. The game has a completely different tone when you accept the fact that you're a part of a community and it's more fun when you ask for help.
I'm still not crazy about the reading out there for wow gamers. Even though I feel part of the 'society' now, it's hard to find an answer for any specific question I have. Take one website, the Fan fiction forum for WOW. It's an archive, but the website is a list of titles or posts, with no description of any of them or any sense of the order in them. I don't want to scrowl through all of the articles, only to find that what I'm looking for isn't in the title at all and I wasted my time. I mean, the titles aren't specific at all half of the time. I was less than thrilled with the search through the articles, with no luck in the end by the way. All the clicking could make a person's hand sore.
